
Maurizio Vitale
Maurizio is an Italian drummer. He started playing drums at an early age, and learned with a number of private teachers before attending the jazz course at the Music Conservatory of S. Pietro a Majella, in Naples, Italy.
Maurizio’s past and present collaborations include work with members of acclaimed bands such as Einstürzende Neubauten, Swans, Iggy Pop, Thåström, PJ Harvey, and Faust. He’s also played with the legendary Sabar percussionist Doudou N’Diaye Rose, of Senegal, as well as German singer Andrea Schroeder, both in the studio and live.
He is active as a studio session drummer, live drummer, and music producer, working with numerous bands and artists worldwide.
Maurizio has been an established part of our thePlanetDrum teaching staff since August 2022.
