Oliver Kunze
Born in Dresden, Olli Kunze discovered his passion for drumming very early on, at just 10 years of age. After a few years of private lessons, he moved on to the Heinrich Schütz Conservatory in Dresden at age 13 and remained there for two years. He played his first paid gig when he was 15. Straight out of school, he started touring Europe and the U.K. with various bands from his hometown.
He was a founding member of internationally acclaimed German hardcore band Risk It!. He also played with bands including TAMAS, Deathrite, Betterov, Kaltfront, The Melmacs, Ferhat Güneyli, Madeleine Sol, StrgZ, Masorati, Mitch Ryder & Engerling, Alphonzo & Analog Jazz, Soulground, Keegan McInroe and others. In 2015, he found himself in Berlin, where he studied under various prestigious teachers at Drumtrainer Berlin.
Since then, he’s travelled both nationally and internationally, performing with any number of acts at venues of all sizes, as well as being active as a studio drummer and percussion teacher in Berlin and Dresden.
At present, he can be heard live with up-and-coming Viennese Austropop artist Ansa Sauermann.
Olli has been an established part of our tPD teaching staff since mid-2022.
